Unsurprisingly for a hugely popular sitcom like Cheers, the network attempted a spinoff, but Frasier was actually the NBC show's second spinoff attempt. Frasier focused on the bar's resident psychiatrist Dr. Frasier Crane (Kelsey Grammer) returning home to Seattle to reconnect with his family and become a talk show host on local radio. Premiering in 1993, Frasier ran for as long as its parent show Cheers, and quickly became an iconic sitcom in its own right.
