Strange New Worlds Broke Canon Better Than Discovery & Picard

Both Star Trek: Picard and Star Trek: Discovery have made some controversial breaks with canon but Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has been much more successful in breaking with established Star Trek canon. As a prequel to Star Trek: The Original Series, it was always possible that SNW would become so constricted by established events that it would be unable to do anything particularly exciting or interesting with its characters. Putting Captain Christopher Pike (Anson Mount) and Spock (Ethan Peck) at the forefront of a modern Star Trek show was a risk because audiences know how their stories end. However, this has allowed for other new characters to emerge, making SNW one of the best-loved Star Trek shows of the modern era.
