The video game movie has become a phenomenal hit, as it broke five box office records in its opening weekend alone, and it became the highest-grossing video game movie of all time just 7 days after its release. The Illumination-developed film will very likely join the billion-dollar club, and as Marvel movies are underperforming, it has a shot of becoming the highest-grossing movie of the year too.
