I Ignored This Terrifying D&D Monster For 10 Years, But Having It In My Game Changed Everything

After running multiple campaigns of Dungeons and Dragons for nearly a decade, I've had my players encounter tons of different monsters, both in and outside of combat. However, I've tended to avoid using certain creatures, as I found them not fitting the theme of my adventures or ones I never took deeper notice of. After my most recent game, though, there's one monster who I'll never ignore again.
